Happy Tails Happy Homes Alumni Updates

  • Camber Adopted 2022

Camber was the last to get adopted after his mother and litter mates were rescued. This sweet, shy boy is now living his best life in the mountains. He spends his days chasing snowmobiles, romping through the woods and playing with all his Happy Tails rescue friends. Camber is the perfect companion and adventure buddy anyone could ask for.

  • Meeka Adopted 2021

Meeka came to HTHH when she was surrendered from an apartment in Seattle as a one year old. She now lives a life on the trails between Bellingham Bay and the North Cascades. She loves making new friends outside, dogs and Humans. She lives at Mt. Baker Ski Area and enjoys fall blueberries, while she waits for the snow to come back.

  • Lainey Adopted 2022

Lainey is little bark and no bite! A destroyer of soft toys and a fetcher of frisbees. Her favorite activity is blazing the trail ahead in the mountains, and always comes when dad calls. A puppy who is eager to learn and motivated by delicious kibble. Couldn’t ask for a better adventure pal!

  • Aurora dog

    Aurora adopted August 2025

Aurora, formerly known as Carmella, joined her forever home in August 2025 at just four months old. Born in Stockton, CA, she had a rough start to life but an incredible rescue story. Her mom, Capri, was the first to make the journey north to Bellingham, where she quickly found a loving family. Meanwhile, Aurora and her sister Izzy, both parvo survivors, ended up on the euthanasia list in Stockton. That’s when Happy Tails Happy Homes stepped in, transporting the sisters to safety in Bellingham. Izzy found her own happy ending, and Aurora was adopted by one of the organization’s board members. These days, Aurora is living her best life playing with her plethora of toys, hiking trails, chewing sticks, trying to sample every leaf she encounters on the ground, and romping around with her dog park buddies.

  • Gibbs

We brought Gibbs home January 14, 2023. He has a foster sister, Pepper, and lives peacefully with 2 cats. When we first met Gibbs we knew he was meant to live with us, it just felt like Gibbs and Pepper had been waiting for each other, there was an instant connection! Gibbs needed a hip surgery and had some significant trust issues with humans and with being indoors. It has been about a year and he is fully healed from his surgery, does lots of off leash hiking, lots of wrestling with Pepper, has become very comfortable in his home, and has adjusted to frequently having a house full of extended family. We have learned so much from Gibbs and what it means to earn the trust of a dog. Giving him the life he deserves and seeing how happy and free he feels as a result, is one of the greatest feelings! Thanks to HTHH for not giving up on any dog, we have a sweet boy who LOVES to snuggle on the bed, get head massages, and run and play outside. He is the sweetest most gentle boy and we feel incredibly lucky to have found him!

  • Aloy Adopted November 2020

Aloy (formerly Attila) the husky came to us after his previous owners surrendered him for being a terrible farm dog. If I remember correctly he was killing the goats and wouldn't stop escaping! Well, as a husky owner already I was well equipped for the challenge. It didn't take long before my husband and I got him to trust us and were showing him how to walk nicely with his new friend (my other husky, Freyja!). We've since traveled the country and now he's a proper salon dog, coming with me to work at the grooming salon and getting pampered all the time.

We are so thankful and blessed to have been able to adopt this sweet rambunctious baby from you all. He's fat and sassy now for the most part at least until the weather cools down! Feel free to doctor up or change the paragraph to fit the website better. And thank you again for all you do!!

  • Luna Adopted 2022

Luna was one of the 11 Spring Shepherd puppies from 2022. Adopted in June 2022, Luna currently lives near Mt Baker and loves the mountain life. Depending on the season, she spends her days playing in the nearby Nooksack River, walking through the forest, romping in the snow, playing catch, and following her human. She is a mama’s girl- sweet, smart, loving and believes she is still a lapdog (even though she weighs 60 lbs).

  • Aero dog rescue adopted

    Aero Adopted 2020

This little rescue not only found a new family to love him, he also got a guardian, Patches, at the same time! Jackpot!

  • Tater Tot Adopted February 2023

Tater Tot, formerly known as Tanya, has been such a joy in our lives. She loves her children and loves to cuddle with them as much as she can. Tater Tot loves playing fetch and wrestling with our chocolate lab, Cooper. She likes to go outside and visit with all our farm animals and go for walks through the neighborhood. We are so glad that she is our "foster fail" !

  • Rainy Adopted September 2022

Rainy girl is living her best life; going to work everyday with mom means she has endless friends and space to play. At home she enjoys pestering her little pug brother kelp but also can’t sleep without him at night. Rainy has been the easiest going dog, getting along with anyone she’s ever met all while making sure her people and dog family are taken care and kept track of.

  • dogs rescue

Tonka & Coco adopted Jan. & Sept. 2024

Tonka and Coco are flourishing in their country life! With Coco just joining the family she has adjusted to being a boat dog.

  • Wynter Adopted December 2022

    Wynter Adopted December 2022

Hello my name is Sherry, my Dog`s name is Wynter. He was previously Elliot, Fluffer Nutter. He was delivered to me in the middle of a snow storm, December 19th, 2022, hence the name Wynter. He is full of life, he loves to run really fast, he chases squirrels, bunnies, and birds all away. He is a very sweet boy, very sensitive, and very much a Border Collie. He brings great joy to my life. Thank you Happy Tails.

  • Elliot Adopted 2013

Elliot (originally Moonshine) came from a hoarding situation and was adopted in 2013 after having been returned twice. It was love at first sight (he still had eyes then). Elliot is deaf and has battled glaucoma with the help of fabulous ophthalmologists, but finally lost his second eye this year- neither ever slowed him down. Through the years he has proven to be a world class cuddler, hiker, high fiver and best friend to our tripawd Aussie, Emma. He's absolutely perfect and I'm so grateful to share my home with him.

  • Cashew Adopted 2014

Alumni Cashew (born in 2014 as part of Indy’s litter) has spent the last 9 years of her life boldly traveling the country (everywhere from Sacramento to Sarasota) looking for new corners of rooms to hide in and yodel at you from. Her favorite activities are squeaking her toys at random intervals during the night, exploring the woods, not sharing her aforementioned toys, and snuggles. She’s the best little weirdo and our whole world.

  • dog Aubrey

    Aubrey

Aubrey was left at the shelter by her previous owners after she had puppies. The owner kept the puppies and dropped her off only a few weeks after they were born. Aubrey struggled in the shelter immensely. In her two years there she never had an adopter. When Happy Tails Happy Homes pulled her, she was incredibly grateful. Aubrey lives happily in Burlington with her new family. She loves soft toys and being with people.

  • Cooper Adopted January 2022

Cooper was abandoned in a backyard in Arizona and spent a year in shelters before coming to live with us in January 2022. He lives in Port Angeles with his mom, dad and sister Minnie, a rescue Catahoula hound mix. Cooper enjoys swimming in the Elwha River and walking on his favorite trails. At home, he lounges on his favorite spot on the couch. Cooper was not allowed on furniture before and was deathly afraid to be on the couch at first. Every day he gets a little more comfortable with us and his new home. He is a little troublemaker that steals food off the counter whenever possible- we had to buy childproof locks for the trash can. Despite his mischief, he knows we will never hurt him. He is safe, happy, and healthy. Thanks for our sweet boy!

  • Dutchess Adopted August 2023

She’s acclimated into the family and her new best friend is my youngest daughter’s Cavalier “Winnie.” She’s overcome all her fears, but we’re still working on stairs. She sleeps with me at night and walks about 2 1/2-3 miles a day total. She absolutely loves getting brushed and cuddling. Her spot in the house is on the couch next to me. We go everywhere together. If she can’t go, I don’t go. She’s a picky eater, but her favorite food is grocery store deli roasted whole chicken. She is a happy and loving dog who acts like a puppy at times and it’s enjoyable to watch her experience her new freedoms. She’s attached to me like glue.

  • Jordan

Jordan lived a year and half in a shelter prior to coming to Happy Tails Happy Homes. His previous owners left him at the shelter because he did not listen well. They had no idea that he was deaf. Living as a deaf dog in a shelter is challenging. Jordan was overstimulated and eventually moved off the adoption floor where he lived in isolation. Jordan was fearful of people. He has come a long way since then. He knows sign language and is trained for off leash with a vibration collar. His favorite things to do are greet people with kisses, sleep on the bed, and have zoomies on the beach.

  • Annie Adopted October 2015

We adopted Annie Houck in October 2015. She has been one of the most wonderful dogs I’ve ever known. She is my adventure buddy, a cuddle bug, and my best friend. Had it not been for happy tails happy homes, I wouldn’t have found Annie.
