Alumni that have crossed over the rainbow bridge

  • black dog jack

    In Memory of Jack

    From Terri:

Jack was my very first foster fail. He came to me in 2009, supposedly on a temporary basis, as an 11-month-old recovering from a hip operation. Jack turned out to be my perfect dog.

I will always be grateful to Vicki for matching us up. He had a good long life, 16 years, and was well loved for all of it. He passed peacefully on September 28, 2024. I will miss him every day.

  • dog sadie pet rescue disabled

    In Memory of Sadie

    From Jenna:

Sadie came to Happy Tails Happy Homes after she was brought into a shelter as an injured senior. This poor girl was blind and suffered severe eye infections. Sadly, her time with us was short, as her quality of life declined. We spoiled her through her last days and showered her with love.

Our hearts break that we never got a chance to give this girl the forever home she deserved, but we are happy we could be with her at the end to surrounded her with love as she crossed over the rainbow bridge.

  • Ludo dog in snow

    In Memory of LUDO

    June 4, 2008 – May 6, 2024

    From Shirley:

After Vicki brought our Ludo home in December 2013, he lived a wonderful 11 years with us, zooming through his giant yard, playing and laughing every day. He loved the snow, piles of leaves, and helping in the kitchen. He hated rain, baths, and big noises.

We tried to keep him as long as we could, until he told us it was time. We miss him every day.

  • Sylvia dog rainbow bridge

    In Memory of Sylvia

    From Jill:

Alan and I are completely heartbroken that Sylvia passed in November 2025. She was 14 yrs + 2 months old. While she was slowing down, she was still happy, loved chasing balls, sticks and Frisbee, and loved going to the beach and the water. She was the most loyal companion, still the watchdog her last physical day on earth. It was very sudden, and it all happened within 3 hours. After talking to our vet we took her to the emergency vet, where she still refused to be carried and walked in. They confirmed that she had internal bleeding from two large masses. We made the decision to relieve her of her pain. We love her so much.
